People have been waiting for someone to do something in Five Points for years.
We are doing something.
Our mission is simple: To create as many commercial and community spaces as possible in the heart of Five Points, while partnering with residents and others who see the potential that already exists. We are working to recruit tenants who will help this neighborhood thrive and be an asset to those who call Five Points and the surrounding neighborhoods home.
Five Points Cultural Commission will launch initiatives to redevelop the neighborhood in a collaborative and community-conscious manner. We have acquired three buildings along Goldthwaite Street that we'll be developing into six to nine restaurants, retail, galleries, and other community assets. We'll also develop spaces into valued community gathering spaces whether you are frequenting a business or just looking for a spot to hang out. We're also enhancing The Sanctuary music venue and performing arts center, holding outdoor food and cultural events and interactive community art projects. Additionally, streetscaping, façade improvement, and business development efforts will make this area the community we all want and put this place on the map.
The project is a colloboration between the Jubilee Community Center, Helicity, River and Rail, Cottage Hill Foundation, and Foomatic.
